Thank you for this!! I've lived in central and Southwest Virginia for years, where an overwhelming landslide of Christians support Israel bombing Gaza because they believe that the Bible either promotes or predicts it. It's super awkward for me because I'm Jewish and 15 yrs ago, I was an EMT in Jerusalem and on the Israel-Gaza border; however, I grew up in the DC area and one of my best childhood friends is Palestinian. I am embarrassed and ashamed of what the IDF is doing right now. I understand that it's difficult for rural Virginia evangelical Christians- very few of whom have even left the country- to comprehend the physics and biology of blast injuries and severe crush trauma. Maybe if they learned that stuff, they'd think twice before using their faith to justify violence.
