Thank you for presenting both sides! It's easy for people to post flags and gruesome images on social media in support of whoever they align with- it's easier than the labor of studying the area's history or the pain of conversations about war and conflict. The time for blame is over. We need to find a path forward.

15 years ago, I was an EMT with Magen David Adom in South Ashkelon (5 miles from the Gaza border) which just saw 900 casualties. One of my best friends growing up in America is Palestinian. We have been texting back and forth all week about the pain we both feel and mourning the unnecessary loss of lives. Neither of us want to see any more injuries or deaths. It hurts for both Jews and Muslims. But in our shared mourning, we can find a common goal of lasting peace.
