I can totally relate! I had a lucrative remote career writing federal proposals, but couldn't shake the feeling that I was unsatisfied with work. . . until one day it dawned on me that I wasn't really doing what I considered to be "work." If I pushed the right buttons on a keyboard, our CEO would get a new Benz and upgrade his two-car garage to a three-car. If I pushed the wrong buttons, a different CEO would get that stuff instead. I'd sit squirming at my home office all day thinking, "I add absolutely zero value to the economy and I could actually be doing something productive right now." I'm in the middle of a career change- sharing a one-bedroom apartment with my best friend and living paycheck to paycheck- and couldn't be more relieved. :)
