Can vouch this is true. I probably get headhunted about 2-4x a week on LinkedIn (although part of that is because I'm in an extremely niche career field.) However, it's not enough to just write something and send it out into the universe. You need to interact with others on the platform by commenting or chatting. As far as what you post, it doesn't have to be some meaningless bootlicker drivel about "corporate synergy" or "bespoke AI"; most of my posts have promoted UBI, affordable and accessible public transportation, and eco-friendly, energy-efficient tiny housing. I have less than 2k followers on the platform, hold a Bachelors in English, and wouldn't consider myself a thought leader in ANYTHING (except maybe snark or dollar-store crafting?), but I've occasionally been fortunate to meet or discuss new ideas with people who actually are! If you're passionate about something, reach out into the universe and connect with someone else.
