Ahaha I LOVE when guys try to talk money, business, or macroeconomics with me! I started working in my family's small business (print shop) when I was 11; at 19, I actually managed it for several weeks when my dad went back to his home country for a visit. Over my 15-year career in federal business development, I've helped my clients (primarily minority-, veteran-, or woman-owned small businesses) win over $130M of contracts and grant funding. My employers include ICF, CACI, and USP and my education includes the University of Virginia and Johns Hopkins. My freelance consultant rate is $95/hr and I get headhunted a few times a week on LinkedIn. I haven't filled out a job application or gone through a traditional interview process in maybe a decade or so- I'm a loudmouth who has no problem wheeling and dealing on the phone with the C-suite of small/mid size companies. However, because I apparently look much younger than my age of 38, men who don't know about my career will often try to provide "advice" by suggesting I enter the MLM industry or get a customized car wrap for advertising purposes. I honestly think it's hilarious!
